A series exploring nature abstractly within a square format. The subjects have been removed from their natural environment, their simplicity, texture and beauty of form explored to produce graphic images. The collection is divided into high and low key images each focusing on different characteristics. The high key images capture the fragility, delicacy, colour and texture of the subject, in contrast to the softness, plumpness and subtleties of tone explored within the low key images. Each challenging and exploring the use of space with the frame. The large amounts of negative space is emphasised further when the images are printed at the intended large scale.
